Grade 5 topics ranged from Plastic: A Double-Edged Innovation and The Hidden Cost of Convenience to India’s Linguistic Tapestry and Perfectionism vs. Progress.
Grade 6 explored contemporary trends such as How Your Playlist Affects Your Mood, OTT: Freedom or Chaos? The Future of Shopping, and Social Isolation in the Digital Age.
Grade 7 delved into national and global developments, with presentations on India’s Cultural Heritage, Unicorn Culture, Evolution of Money, BRICS in Global Power Play, and 10-Minute Deliveries: Convenience or Catastrophe?
Grade 8 examined pressing international and scientific issues, including Borders and Immigration Law 2025, The United Nations: Bridging or Dividing? ISRO in 2025, and The Price of Progress: Can Profit and Planet Coexist?
The Grade 9 presentations, held on July 22, 2025, offered thought-provoking insights on topics such as De-Extinction, Innovations for Peace, Interstellar Colonisation, The US Tariff War, and Financial Literacy for Teens.
Tata Building India School Essay Competition (Grades 6-11)

The Tata Building India School Essay Competition, recommended by the CISCE Board, was conducted to inspire the youth of India and instill the value of nation- building. Seventy-seven pupils from Grades 6 to 11 participated, writing essays of approximately 350 words on the topic “Five Things I Will Do to Build a Self-Reliant India.”
The competition provided students with an opportunity to reflect on their responsibilities as future citizens and articulate constructive ideas for the nation’s progress.
Quiz Club session conducted by Ace Plus (Grades 7-10)

The School Quiz Club organised an engaging and informative session on General Knowledge Awareness and Current Affairs, conducted by Ace Plus, an initiative by Derek O’Brien & Associates. The programme aimed to enhance students’ understanding of national and international events, foster curiosity, and encourage healthy competition.
The session commenced with an introduction on the importance of staying informed about current affairs and its relevance in academics as well as competitive examinations.
AI Workshop for teachers by Mr. Willibrord George

Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, hosted a dynamic and insightful AI workshop for teachers of Grades 5 to 12. The resource person, Mr. Willibrord George, is the Co- Founder of three schools and an accomplished education business strategist. He is also a keynote speaker, learning designer, podcaster, and early-stage investor. The session was designed to introduce educators to the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in the classroom. Through hands-on demonstrations and live interactions, teachers explored advanced AI tools such as Meta AI, ChatGPT, Notebook LM, and Gamma. The focus was on crafting well-structured prompts to optimise lesson planning, enhance presentations, and generate creative worksheets tailored to student needs.
Inter-House Dramatics Competition (Juniors)

Lights, sound, and the magic of outstanding performances captivated the audience at the event which was adjudicated by two accomplished artists. The first judge, Mr. Varun Narayan, was a noted actor, singer, and voiceover artist. The second judge, Ms. Aarohi Sharma, an alumna of the National School of Drama, was a prolific theatre artist with extensive stage experience.

Grade 11: ATLAS SkillTech Bootcamp

ISC – Scottish Model United Nations

The 13th edition of the Scottish Model United Nations (SCOTMUN) was held on 25th July 2025, with 245 participants from Grades 8–12 of BSS Powai and Mahim. Senior alumni served as Executive Board members, mentoring junior EB members and delegates, while reduced committee sizes encouraged more active participation. Eight committees deliberated on pressing global issues, including US trade tariffs, regulation of autonomous weapons, the Darfur conflict, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, space militarisation, development in Sub-Saharan Africa, and the collapse of the digital order. Heavy rains could not dampen the spirit of the discussions. The event concluded with the Principal presenting well-claimed awards to the delegates.
Grade 11 & 12 Science Students: A Generative AI Workshop

KG Monsoon Carnival

The Kindergarten Monsoon Carnival celebrated the rainy season with students arriving in bright attire. Activities included water play, monsoon-themed art and craft where Jr. KG and Sr. KG created cheerful clouds and rainbows, a captivating puppet show by teachers, joyful singing, and the sharing of traditional monsoon treats such as crispy pakoras. The event blended fun, creativity, and seasonal appreciation, leaving lasting memories for students and teachers.
ISC – Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony for the Student Council 2025–2026 was held on 17th July 2025 in the School Hall, in the presence of parents, teachers, and Grade 11 students. The solemn occasion commenced with a dignified processional march led by the Principal, followed by her inspiring address on the values of leadership and responsibility.
The formal proceedings included the ceremonial handing over of the school and house flags, along with the presentation of council badges to the newly appointed members. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Principal and the singing of the school anthem, marking the beginning of a new chapter of student leadership at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim.
Grade 9: Diabetes Workshop

In response to the government circular regarding the Sugar Board Implementation Initiative, our school launched the “Healthy Choices – Bunk the Sugar Junk” campaign to raise awareness about excessive sugar consumption. An informative health talk was given to Grade 9 students by Dr. Vishesh Agrawal (diabetologist) wherein he informed them about the ill effects of high sugar consumption. He debunked common myths about sugar and also gave them practical tips on how to make healthy food choices.
Albert Barrow Memorial All India Interschool Creative Writing Competition

Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, had the privilege of hosting the CATEGORY I [XI & XII], POOL C22 round of the competition. Out of the 25 schools enlisted, 20 schools participated with great enthusiasm.
Participants were tasked with writing an original creative piece — in the form of a story, prose, dialogue, poem, or drama — within a word limit of 500 to 750 words. They could choose one of the following thought-provoking topics:
- The Evolving Duality of AI: A Master or a Servant?
- Generative AI as a Great Leveller
- Real Learning Needs a Human Touch
- A Conversation Between a Human Teacher and an AI Teacher
ISC – Combined Educational Bootcamp & Outdoor Learning Experience
Date: 10.07.2025 to 11.07.2025
Grade 12 students undertook a two-day educational trip to Nature Trails at Durshet and Vijaybhoomi University, Karjat. The first day included a guided campus tour of Vijaybhoomi University, where students explored its academic programmes, scenic nature trails, and participated in adventure activities designed to foster teamwork and enthusiasm.
On the second day, the students visited an organic farm, where they enjoyed a wholesome meal prepared from vegetables grown on-site. The experience offered them valuable insights into sustainable farming practices while also engaging them in enjoyable adventure activities that deepened their appreciation for nature.

This year, Scottish continued its exceptional legacy of excellence with a remarkable national performance for the third year in a row. These results are a testament to the dedication, discipline, and determination of our students.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Shrikanth Velamakanni, Founder of Plaksha University, addressed the gathering with warmth and insight. He commended the students for their thoughtful choices of subjects and institutions and spoke compellingly about the future of leadership in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. He emphasized the need to align AI with ethical responsibility so that it may serve as a force for good in the hands of future leaders.
The ceremony began on a reflective note with the school choir’s rendition of Psalm 23, followed by an uplifting performance of The Defining Moment. The morning concluded with a poignant choral presentation of Rabindranath Tagore’s Deception, followed by an elegant and expressive dance performance. The programme concluded with a felicitation ceremony honouring Ms. Anjani Telang and Ms. Manpreet Hill for completing 20 years of dedicated service at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim.
ISC – School Bag Donation Drive

Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, in collaboration with Citysproutz and Hamleys, organised a School Bag Donation Drive from July 1 to 8, 2025. Students from Grades 1 to 12 generously contributed a total of 76 school bags, which were distributed to children supported by NMP+, Vijay Kirda Mandal NGO, Udaan Welfare Foundation, and The Change Initiative. The initiative was efficiently coordinated by volunteers from the Planet 4.0 Club, who managed the collection process. As a gesture of appreciation, participating students were awarded certificates and received special benefits at Hamleys.

Vacation Bible School

This year’s VBS unfolded over four days of engaging sessions, culminating in a joyous fifth day of celebration and presentation. Each morning began with worship and heartfelt devotions, followed by the inspiring story of a missionary. The campus came alive as a space of spiritual growth and discovery, where children gathered to explore the theme: “Do You Hear My Voice?” Through Bible storytelling, praise and worship, interactive lessons, craft activities, memory verses, and group discussions, the biblical message was brought to life in ways the children could easily understand and relate to.
The beauty of the program lay in its spirit of unity, children from diverse faiths came together, participated wholeheartedly, and left enriched, carrying with them lasting lessons of love, hope, and understanding.
Leadership Strength Lab-Inner Compass Village by Suraj Moraje (Grades 8-10)

The Leadership Strengths Lab received outstanding participant feedback, with an average rating of 4.5/5. Students valued the program’s real-world, hands-on experiences over traditional textbook approaches. Activities such as selling, negotiating, designing businesses, and pitching ideas were particularly appreciated. The programme also fostered self-awareness in leadership, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving, with several students gaining greater career-based clarity.
Intra-Class Singing Competition – Grades 5 to 8

Judged by Mr. Gilchrist D'Souza and Ms. Rachel Michael, the entries were evaluated on tonal quality, diction, interpretation, and overall impact. The event showcased musical talent, teamwork, and school spirit, making it a memorable celebration of melody and unity.

Mini MUN - Grades 7 & 8

The second edition of Mini MUN, a student-led initiative by the Scottish MUN Club, was successfully hosted by our school. Organised by the ISC Executive Board, the event introduced students from Grades 7 and 8 to global diplomacy through three UN committees - UNGA, UNSC, and ECOSOC. Delegates debated critical issues including the Gaza conflict, climate change, AI in warfare, and human rights. Through well-researched arguments and confident diplomacy, students demonstrated remarkable growth and engagement. The event concluded with a special assembly and Best Delegate awards, celebrating their efforts and inspiring future participation.
Scottish Indian Youth Parliament (IYP) 2025

The 7th edition of the Indian Youth Parliament featured relevant agendas and spirited debates, showcasing student engagement with contemporary national issues. The proceedings began with the Speaker Dhyan Jariwala officially opening the session. Parth Naik introduced the Lok Sabha agenda on “Strengthening India’s Defense System and Cybersecurity,” while Anvi Khattar presented the Rajya Sabha agenda on “Legal Boundaries of Free Speech for Digital Content Creators.” Debates in both houses were rigorous and insightful, culminating in a joint session where the Rajya Sabha presented the final bill. The event concluded with a closing ceremony celebrating the dedication of all participants and organizing members. The IYP 2025 showcased the power of young voices to inspire meaningful dialogue and drive change.
Easter Celebration

The Easter celebration for Grades 1 and 2, was a joyful and meaningful event. Students engaged in “Egg-cellent Creations”, decorating Easter egg cutouts, and participated in games like “The Great Egg Pass” and “Egg on the Edge”, fostering teamwork and coordination. A reflective Story Time introduced the significance of Easter, and the day concluded with a surprise visit from Mickey Mouse, leaving the children delighted.

Perspective 360 was a stimulating platform that encouraged students to engage in deep research and critical discussions on some of the most pressing issues shaping the contemporary world. The event was designed to promote independent thinking and broaden global awareness beyond the classroom. Among the standout topics explored were India’s Cultural Heritage: Preserving Our Traditions in a Modern World, which examined the tension between tradition and modernity; Unicorn Culture: The Surge of Start-ups in India, highlighting the entrepreneurial wave reshaping the nation's economy; and The Evolution of Money: From Hard Cash to Digital Dominance, which traced the shifting landscape of financial transactions. Students also tackled geopolitical and technological issues through BRICS: The Underground Revolution Challenging World Order and ISRO in 2025, reflecting on India's growing global influence in diplomacy and space exploration. These topics not only sparked lively debate but also nurtured informed perspectives, helping shape socially conscious and intellectually agile young minds.
Great Innovative Challenge 2025 – Grades 7 & 8

The preliminary round of the Great Innovative Challenge - an initiative by Nehru Science Centre, for Grades 7 and 8 was held at school. The event aimed to foster creativity, teamwork, and problem - solving through a hands-on task of making slots and using connectors. Grade 8 students kicked off the challenge, working in teams to design and build innovative models within 90 minutes. Their creativity and collaboration were evident in the final projects. Grade 7 followed suit, showcasing remarkable imagination in their designs. The event's excitement built as students eagerly worked towards qualifying for the next round at Nehru Science Centre, where they will present their projects in a Shark Tank-style pitch. Golden Tickets were awarded to the qualifying teams, encouraging students to think creatively and embrace innovation. The event was a celebration of curiosity and critical thinking, marking the beginning of an exciting journey.
ISC – Grade 11 Orientation

The programme familiarised students and parents with the school’s academic, social, and infrastructural environment, ensuring a smooth transition into the academic year 2025–26.
Students were introduced to subject choices, academic pathways, assessment structures, student welfare protocols, the code of conduct, key school events, career prospects, and admission procedures beyond Grade 12.
An interactive ice-breaker session followed, where students were grouped with Grade XII mentors for activities such as Human Bingo and a guided campus tour — fostering camaraderie, encouraging interaction, and helping them feel at home in their new environment.
Mission Week – Grades 1 to 8

Pastor Dinesh and his team from Lead to Serve Trust led the Mission Week guiding students from Grades 1 to 8 through engaging, value-based sessions. Through lively action songs, skits, and interactive discussions, students reflected on essential virtues like kindness, honesty, faithfulness, and gratitude. Uplifting music, humorous animal videos and learning to share made the sessions both meaningful and enjoyable. Each day concluded with a quiet moment of prayer, leaving students with hearts full of joy, peace, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Inter-Class Art Competition – Grades 1 to 12

The Art Competition held on 2nd April 2025 was a vibrant showcase of creativity for students from Grades 1 to 12. Bursting with colour and imagination, young artists brought to life joyful themes like dream houses, pets, and magical forests. Middle schoolers illustrated quirky ideas such as houses on the moon and upside-down worlds, while senior students tackled deeper topics like Breaking the Silence, The Masks We Wear, and funny family moments. With topics given on the spot, the event encouraged spontaneity and originality. Each artwork reflected a bold, personal vision, celebrating student talent, confidence, and a shared love for visual storytelling.
Movement Therapy Workshop

A movement therapy workshop for the primary teachers, led by Ms. Keisha Lobo Rodrigues, aimed at enhancing self-awareness, emotional expression, and the mind- body connection. The session included activities on body language, goal-setting, and non-verbal communication. Participants reflected on their roles as educators and shared personal goals, fostering connection and self-discovery. The workshop emphasized the importance of intentional expression in teaching.
Whistling Woods Visit and Workshops

The students of Grade 9 had a day-long immersive experience hosted by Whistling Woods International. It was an engaging and insightful day as they explored various career paths within the media and entertainment industry. Through interactive workshops in animation, fashion, and visual communication design, students gained hands-on exposure and a deeper understanding of the creative fields.
Summary of the “Activity Week” - KG to Grade 8
Date: 03.03.2025 – 11.03.2025
KGJr.KG learners explored the cultures of Italy and Egypt through engaging activities such as pasta necklace making, Egyptian headgear crafting and T-shirt painting. Meanwhile, Sr.KG students delved into experiential learning through animal habitat projects, binocular making, clay moulding, and eco-friendly seed bomb activity. Both groups enjoyed nature walks in the park, building observation skills and love for nature. Learning was reinforced through English reading - with games and stories, worksheets, Math activities and number fun, sessions in music, art and physical education. The mini chefs assembled their favourite snack and dessert which added extra excitement. The week concluded with the heartwarming KG Spotlight - honouring each students’ talent and a cozy pyjama party filled with stories, dancing, art/craft session and pretend play.
Grades 1 & 2:
The week began with the “focus on health” day, which included yoga and meditation, followed by a lively Zumba session to encourage fitness. During the Healthy Snack Break, students enjoyed nutritious snacks, promoting mindful eating. A dental camp led by Ms. Aditi Lele’s team demonstrated proper brushing techniques and oral care. Over the week students from Grades 1 and 2 visited Hinduja Park for a nature walk, engaging in games and a treasure hunt, blending learning with outdoor fun. Additionally, art workshops allowed students to explore creative techniques like Warli painting while “The Wonder Lab” buzzed with excitement as students showcased simple science experiments. The week also included academic activities in English and Math, fostering learning through fun and interactive exercises.
Grades 3 & 4:
A combined session of storybook reading was conducted with worksheets that included exercises to enhance vocabulary and comprehension skills. Math worksheets included several exercises to strengthen their understanding of key concepts ensuring a solid foundation for the upcoming topics. Engaging brain gym activities were conducted for the students to enhance concentration and cognitive abilities. A beautifully designed Mandala template was given to the students to be brought to life with vibrant colours. Events such as Scottish Spotlight, Educational field trips and workshops were conducted to nurture their creative talents and enhance their learning experience.
Grade 5 & 6
The bridge course for Grades 5 and 6 was a vibrant blend of learning, creativity, and exploration. Students watched the Marathi film Ravrambha, drawing lessons on courage, perseverance, and balance, followed by a review session to share insights. An anti-bullying workshop by Ms. S. Tikku empowered students with strategies to stay safe, while a first-aid and hygiene session by Sister Grace Sharon taught essential health practices. Art came alive through Gond Art sessions with Ms. L. Cordeira, allowing students to explore colours and techniques freely. To celebrate Pi Day, Grade 5 built a creative “Sky City” integrating Pi into geometry, while Grade 6 solved Pi-themed worksheets and revised key math concepts through fun, hands-on activities. Science labs were buzzing: Grade 5 separated mixtures, dissected flowers, experimented with pulleys, and explored eclipses. Grade 6 tested food for nutrients, built balloon cars, and used pinhole cameras, linking theory with real-world learning. The course sparked curiosity, encouraged inquiry, and made learning an exciting journey beyond the classroom.
Grade 7 & 8
Students in grades 7 and 8 engaged themselves in meaningful bridge programmes that helped them cement important concepts in Math, encouraged visits to the Science labs, enhanced their creative writing skills, built on their confidence as well as public speaking skills. As part of their P.T. sessions, students participated in fun team games. Students also attended Basic First Aid, as well as Anti-Bullying workshops. The week also included an overnight adventure trip to Igatpuri (grade 7), and Lonavala (grade 8). While students in grade 7 visited the Gargoti Mineral Museum, students in grade 8 visited the NAB Lion’s Home, Wax Museum, and MAPRO Garden. The trips brought students closer and ensured better bonding over good music, and food.
Parent Orientation – KG to Grades 12

The parent orientation sessions took place with the Principal's address to all parents, over the course of a week from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This provided families with a comprehensive overview of the school’s legacy, academic achievements, co- curricular successes, and its distinguished rankings. Key guidelines regarding discipline and essential agreements were clearly communicated. Parents were also introduced to the Ufratzah Center and had the opportunity for an in-depth interaction with the Academic Counselor, which proved informative for both students and parents. The orientation served as a clear roadmap for students of each grade level, outlining expectations and giving insights into what the academic year holds. Most parents left with a well-defined understanding of the school’s vision and their child’s journey ahead.
Bhillar Trip

The Grade 9 students embarked on an adventurous trip to Bhillar and Kamshet. Engaging in raft-building, rope climbing, and problem-solving tasks, enhancing skills such as teamwork, resilience, and leadership. The experience also fostered camaraderie and trust, while giving students time to relax and recharge. The trip not only created lasting memories but also built essential skills in collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
Founders’ Day

Founders’ Day was celebrated on 25th February to honour the visionaries who laid the foundation of our school. The programme commenced with a presentation tracing the institution’s past, celebrating its present, and envisioning its future, instilling pride and purpose among all present.
Students enthusiastically participated in a quiz on the school’s history and milestones, followed by a creative activity in which they coloured the school crest, reflecting their artistic flair and school spirit. A video featuring notable alumni evoked fond memories and inspired the younger generation.
The occasion would not have been complete without the active participation of our alumni in the much-anticipated football and basketball matches. These thrilling encounters added to the day’s excitement, with the alumni securing a victory in the football match.
The celebrations concluded with a solemn prayer service, expressing gratitude for the founders’ legacy and seeking blessings for the journey ahead.
KG Section
The Kindergarten corridors were abuzz with excitement as the little ones celebrated Founders’ Day. Dressed in colourful party wear, the children began the day learning about the school’s proud legacy. Classrooms soon turned festive with music, dancing, games, and sweet treats, including a slice of the birthday cake. Each child crafted a cheerful birthday card, adding a personal touch to the celebration. The day ended with joyful smiles and a strong sense of belonging to the Bombay Scottish family.
Junior Annual Concert – KG to Grade 2

The Annual KG – Grade 2 concert was a vibrant showcase of over 1,000 children singing, dancing, and performing with joy and confidence. The theme, “It’s a Beautiful World,” followed a moving narrative where Mother Earth, saddened by human neglect, is reassured by children pledging to care for the planet. With colourful costumes, lively acts, and a powerful message of hope and responsibility, the show left the audience feeling proud and inspired.
Student Workshop on Judiciary Session

Grade 10 ICSE Civics Chapter – The Judiciary, is a very important topic which gives students an in-depth knowledge about our legal system. As an extension of this, the school organised an interactive session with Mr. Akshay Pai, a practicing Advocate at the Mumbai High Court.
Republic Day/Change of Guard/Closing Ceremony

Republic Day Sunday began with the hoisting of the National Flag and a respectful tribute to our Constitution, followed by the Closing Assembly for Grades 10 & 12. It was also a significant moment of the change of guard, as the outgoing Student Council handed over the House flags to the Principal, marking the transition and the way to the new council next academic year.
The winners of the Grades 7 & 8 Nritya delivered energetic and meaningful dances, merging the themes of women empowerment and patriotism in a powerful tribute to the day.
Christmas Concert

The Annual Concert unfolded the story of India through the rich tapestry of its indigenous fabrics, each symbolizing the heritage of a distinct region. The 6th edition of the Indian Youth Parliament, held on October 3rd, 2024, proved to be a dynamic and engaging event with highly relevant agendas and spirited debates. The discussions in the Lok Sabha centered on the feasibility and implications of the 'One Nation, One Election' proposal. The Rajya Sabha session focused on ensuring the 'Academic Integrity of Exams,' addressing the growing concerns over malpractices and paper leaks. The two sessions were followed by a joint session where the bills drafted by the Lok Sabha were presented, marking a collaborative conclusion to the event.
Inter-House Dramatics Competition

The highlight of the day was the Inter-House Nritya Dance Competition, where students showcased their artistic talents through captivating performances centered around the theme "Unfailing India." as a part of the Independence Day celebrations. A panel of two judges evaluated the performances based on criteria such as thematic relevance, creativity, and execution.
Perseverantia

The Inter School event Perseverantia took place over three days—August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd—attracting participants from 33 schools across 15 events. This year's theme was Inclusivity. Days 1 and 2 featured various sports events, including tug-of-war, basketball, and football, as well as Explorare, where participants solved clues throughout Mahim. Day 3 showcased performing and literary arts, including Gratia, Mr. and Ms. Perseverantia, Panache, Artem, Admeta, and Carmen. The fest took on a whole with the presence of the Deputy Chairman, BSOS, Mr. Deepak Parekh who interacted with students of different schools. Other engaging activities included Fortuna, a stock market simulation; Fabula, a filmmaking competition; Sociale, an Instagram- based event; FIFA, an e-gaming tournament; and Inventio for aspiring inventors.
Grades 9 – 12: Policy Research Studies (PRS) Parliamentary Session

Participants formed ministries, assumed stakeholder roles, debated amendments, and engaged in the Question Hour, sharpening their research and debating skills.
Toy Collection Drive

In the spirit of Christmas sharing and with the aim of fostering community solidarity, the School executed Operation Joyful Giving in collaboration with The Toybank Foundation. The mission aimed at uplifting the spirits of underprivileged children by gifting them toys and stationery items.

KG Section

As a part of the Operation Joyful Giving, the KG section too helped the patients at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital, Nowrosjee Wadia Hospital and People’s Mobile Hospital by sending essentials like toothpaste, detergent and soap for their daily needs. A few staff members visited the home to personally handover the care packages and experience the happiness that comes from sharing what you have.
Transforming Memories into Joy – Costume Exchange Fundraiser

Romilla Palliative Care Centre, Bandra

The members of the Interact Club visited the Romilla Palliative Care Center, Bandra, which supports terminally ill patients and their families through their outpatient department services and home-based care. The preparation of the day began when the students began collecting support system material which would help the patients. The students visited the Orphanage on 1st February, 2024 to donate the material and understand the workings of the centre.
Project Prayatna (Visit to Mumbai Port Trust)

18 students of the ISC were the privileged guests of the Customs Department and were taken to the Mumbai Port Trust under Project Prayatna. The theme was 'Customs, Swachhta and Drug Awareness'. The students were given first-hand information about the procedures followed in the clearance of import and export cargo; the various agencies that operate at the port; the concept of 'narco terrorism'; the calculation of duty; and the Swachh Bharat campaign. The students interacted with the Chief Commissioner of Customs and other officers at the end of the day.

One such event is ‘Back in Business’ where teams of students put on their thinking caps and tackle business problems efficiently and cost effectively to vie for the prize. The impressive lineup of judges were Mr. Nikhil Ranka, Senior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer at Nuvama Asset Management, Mr. Zubin Dubhash, the trailblazer and an alumnus of Stanford GSB as well as the founder of Yozuha Consulting and co-founder of Shemaroo and Mr. Vivek Maheshwari, a chartered accountant and currently the Managing Director of the investment banking firm, Jefferies India Ltd.
NRITYA Competition (Grades 9 & 11)

The Annual Nritya Dance competition instituted by the Alumni was held on 15th January, 2024 on the theme of ‘Colours’ at the Veer Savarkar auditorium. The brief given to the Houses was to incorporate the concept as best they could through the visual and performance medium. The winning house was the Green House whose dance drama incorporated all the elements of how colours impact the stages of life.
Vacation Bible

"Zoom Into Life" was the theme for the VBS this year. Using the features of Zoom as metaphors for the different aspects of life, children learnt about the word of God through meaningful action songs, engaging skits, activities and games. This helped the children to understand about the love of God and to deepen their faith. The final day programme was held on Saturday 2nd March, 2024. The children showcased their talents by reciting the memory verse, singing action songs, enacting a wonderful skit and performing in a band playing songs praising the Lord. It was truly an enriching and impactful experience for all.
Founders’ Day
Founders’ Day was celebrated on 6th February, 2024. The morning began with a Prayer Service led by Rev. Sumitra. Our distinguished alumnus, Mr. Cyrus Poncha was the Guest of Honour. Presently, he is the Secretary General of Squash Rackets Federation of India. He is a Dronacharya Awardee and was adjudged the Asian Squash Federation Coach of the Year six times. He is the proud mentor to many of the top-level squash players of our school. The vote of thanks by Mrs. Hoofrish Hirji, President of the Alumni Committee was followed by the age-old tradition of friendly matches between students and ex-students.
To our junior most classes - the kindergarten pupils, Founders’ Day was the birthday of our school. They put on their most festive outfits and their sweetest smiles as they wished each other a ‘Happy Birthday’. Grades 1 & 2 started the day with prayer service followed by a talk about the history of the school. An air of celebration and pride filled the simple hearts of our smallest pupils.
Christmas Concert

The Christmas Concert titled ‘Game On’ which was held at the Shanmukhananda Hall in Sion on December 20, 2023, centred around the theme of ‘The Evolution of Sports’. The concert began with a 151 strong choir singing a lovely medley of carols followed by ‘The Nativity’ scene brought alive by our tiny tots from Grades 1 and 2. Then unfolded the saga of man and the games he plays which interspersed the story of man’s evolution with his love for sports. Every class brought out the theme aptly from gladiatorial games to E-games. The day was full of dance and drama and fun. Another highlight of the day was the official launch of the new school website.

The Annual Athletic Meet was held on the auspicious occasion of Republic Day where the National Flag was hoisted by the Principal, Mrs. George. The Chief Guest was Commodore Devanshu Rastogi, Chief Staff Officer to Flag Office Commanding Maharashtra Naval Area (FOMA) who in his inspiring speech spoke about the 4 Cs of leadership – Character, Capability, Commitment and Compassion. The PT Drill reflected the spirit of the nation and the Olympics. The march past and the races lived upto their usual exciting standard of competition. The Yellow House (Anne) won the overall Girls Championship while the Green House (Kennedy) won the overall Boys Championship.

From march past, drill, track events to team sports, every student showcased their skills and sportsmanship.

The Easter Extravaganza Fest - Grades 1 & 2

Grades 1 & 2 hosted the Easter Extravaganza bringing together children and teachers for a day of festive fun and celebration. Peter Cottontail, the rabbit mascot added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. Dressed in his signature attire Peter Cottontail personally visited each classroom, spreading joy and laughter as he interacted with the children, played games, and danced to cheerful tunes. Throughout the day the children immersed themselves in Easter-themed crafts, unleashing their creativity to make colorful Easter eggs, adorable bunny masks, and vibrant spring crafts. In addition to the crafts, the Easter celebration featured a variety of Easter-themed activities including the Bunny Hop Race and an exhilarating Easter egg hunt. Amidst the festivities, the students also had an opportunity to reflect on the true significance of Easter through a storytelling session.

- Discussion on State-sponsored extremism, especially in the Middle Eastern region.
- The Exponential Growth of Transatlantic Crime.
Best performing delegates, along with the Executive Board members and the Secretariat participated in the Night Crisis Committee - the agenda of which was ‘Neo Nazism around the World’. It was filled with unmatched debates punctuated with amusing repartees.

GrooveFusion, an electrifying dance fest, set the stage on fire at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, showcasing the vibrant talents of students. The event was conceptualized and executed by ‘Footloose’ - the student dance club at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim.
The event kicked off to a fantastic start with a ‘groovy’ flash mob by the Organising team followed by impressive performances by the students of Grades 5 to 12, setting the stage abuzz with energy. From Bollywood heroes to Dancing Divas, the performers put great effort into their performances. The DJ breaks were a delight to witness with parents and performers taking over the stage.
POCSO Training for all teaching and office staff

A session on child protection and child safety was conducted by Ms. Edwina Lobo who specializes in this field and works to spread awareness about the same across Mumbai.
The session entailed important information regarding the concept of child safety and the different types of abuse that can be the cause of trauma for a child. Ms. Lobo discussed various signs and symptoms to look out for in case of suspected abuse cases and outlined the teachers’ responsibility in making the learning space safe, comfortable and welcoming for the children.
She also shared the legal aspect of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and highlighted the various important features and legal responsibilities of institutions with regard to the same.
Joy of Giving - Grades 1 & 2

The teachers of Grades 1 and 2 visited the St. Anthony’s Home for the Aged. As a collective effort of our school community, a donation drive was conducted and these offerings were handed over to the home by the teachers. Through simple acts of kindness such as playing a game of housie, sharing stories, singing songs, and even dancing, the teachers were able to brighten the lives of the elderly residents and create cherished memories for all.

The Student Exchange Programme between Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, and Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest provided an unforgettable cultural immersion. Participants stayed for a week with Dutch families in Leiden, forming strong connections and gaining deep insights into Dutch life. Highlights included visits to the Mauritius, Amsterdam, Leiden, and The Hague, an overnight hostel stay, a tour of the water dunes, and a picturesque boat ride. This exchange was as much about exploring new places as it was about forging lasting friendships and an exchange of cultural experiences.

During Mission Week, Grades 1 to 4 students enjoyed action songs and short skits by the Team, each teaching important values through engaging videos. Grades 5 to 8 focused on life’s journey with the theme "Let's Run" from 1 Corinthians, highlighting perseverance and faith through stories like Wilma Rudolph and Judas's betrayal of Jesus. The sessions also included interactive games, action songs, and Bible stories.
Annual Prize Day

The Annual Prize Day was held on 4th July 2024. Dr. Indu Shahani, the Founding President and Chancellor of ATLAS SkillTech University, was the Guest of Honour. Mr. V. Runganadhan, the Chairman of the Bombay Scottish Orphanage Society, congratulated the achievers and appreciated the efforts of the staff and students in his address. Mr. R.K. Singh, Ms. A. Uppal and Ms. A. Pandey were presented with a silver plaque for their 20 years of dedicated service to the institution. It was a proud day for the Scottish Family as we had two country toppers in the ICSE boards this year, for the second year running. The results of both the ISC and ICSE have been a testament to the hard work and perseverance of everyone involved. The felicitation ceremony which began with the talented school choir singing Glorious and Siyahamba was taken forward by the choral piece, ‘The Paradox of Our Time’, and rounded off by the energetic performance of the Nritya winners - the Green and Red House.
Grade 10 & 12 Trip to Igatpuri

Despite the inclement weather, Grades 10 & 12 students embarked on an educational trip to Igatpuri. The first session was held at Quadrant 73 amidst lush greenery, where students participated in activities such as archery, raft building, nature trails, trekking, and stationary football. After their time at Quadrant 73, the students proceeded to Manas Resort. On the second day, they visited the Artillery Museum in Deolali, which featured an impressive collection of vintage and modern weapons, including army tanks and aircraft.
Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter-School Debate Competition

It was a battle of wits as twelve schools from across the city debated on the topic: ‘The Search for the New World Spells Doom for the World we Live in.’ Hiranandani Foundation School, Thane won Best Team while Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School won the Runners up. Meanwhile our very own school team consisting of Aarav Bardhan [12C] and Ishmit Kaur [12B] won all three prizes in their pool - Best Speaker, Best Runner up Speaker as well as Best Team.

A formal Investiture Ceremony to officially appoint the Student Council for the 2024-2025 academic year. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished audience of parents, teachers, and students from Grades 10 to 12.
