Anika Joseph's [12B] history essay was shortlisted for the finals of the John Locke Essay Competition. Anika was awarded a Merit commendation and she received the certificate in person at an awards ceremony in London on September 21, 2024.

Pinky and the Genie

She also participated in the second edition of CROOKED LINES, an annual short story competition for young writers organised by the Department of English at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence. Her short story titled "Pinky and the Genie" and was shortlisted for the finals

Viraj Ajgaonkar [6E] was a Finalist amongst more than 400 students across India and abroad in The GetLitt Spoken Poetry and Story Fest 2024-25 [4th Edition]. Viraj Ajgaonkar [6E] also won the 1st prize (Grade A+) in Master Builder online competition held amongst the school students across India) under the Senior category for constructing two different-structured skyscrapers - one using Lego blocks and the other using wooden planks.   • Nizh Kapadia [6C] participated in the CISCE State Football Tournament as part of team MAHARASHTRA. They won the national level championship and Nizh was selected to play for the CISCE national team at the SGFI.

  • Bombay Scottish School, Mahim has been awarded Best School in Lawn Tennis at the SFA Championships.
  • Veer Bhadu [11C] won the Overall Championship at the SFA Championship, was named the Golden Boy and received Rs.25,000. He also won Gold in boxing, wrestling and judo.
  • At the MSSA Lawn Tennis Tournament held at Bombay Gymkhana from 18th - 25th October 2024, Vritika Shah (7F - U14 Girls) won the Gold Medal. Devika Pinge [7E] (U14 Girls) won the Bronze Medal.
  • The U16 Boys Team comprising of Vyom Shivmath, Nilay Dhawale, Advait Kota, Pradhyuman Savant & Rivaan Parmar & the U16 Girls Team comprising of Vritika Shah, Devika Pinge, Vivana Parmar won Gold.
  • Vritika Shah [7F] won the Girls U14 Singles and Doubles categories in the AITA (All India Tennis Association) Championship Series Tennis tournament.
  • Vyom Shivnath [8D] secured 3rd place in the Mumbai District Sports office (DSO) Boys U14 Lawn Tennis Inter School Tournament. He secured 3rd place and was selected to represent our school in the Maharashtra State Inter School Lawn Tennis competition.
  • He emerged as the winner in the U14 Tennis Singles category at the SFA Championships Mumbai 2024-25.
  • He also won the SFA Championships Tennis Championship in the Boys U14 Doubles.

  • At the DSO District Level Athletic Meet, the Girls U14 Relay Team comprising of Aisha Khan, Shrutika Shirke, Enayah Kazi & Aadrika Bhandari won Gold in the 4x100m Relay held at Priyadarshini Park on 1st October 2024.
  • Aadrika Bhandari (U14 Girls) 7D won Silver in the 800m Run at the MSSA Athletics Competition held at University Grounds, Marine Lines from 16th to 18th December 2024.
  • She won a Silver medal in 600M run in U14 age category in SFA.
  • She also won at the DSO District level Athletics: 1st position in all 3 athletic events - 400m, 600m and 4 x 100m relay. In football, after being picked up from district level, she cleared divisional level too and qualified for state selections. Silver medal in the 600m run in the U14 category in the Sports For All Championships. Silver medal in the 800m run in the U14 category in the MSSA Inter-School Athletic Meet.

BADMINTON

  • The U19 Girls Team comprising of Riya Vinherkar, Ishita Agarwal, Vrittika Daga & Aditi Agarwal won Gold at the DSO District Level Badminton Tournament and won Silver at the DSO Zonal Level Badminton Tournament held at Dadoji Kondev Stadium on 13th October 2024.

  • Vanessa Thacker [10D] was selected for the Maharashtra team that participated in the Rhythmic Gymnastics State Championships. She won a Bronze in clubs event, Bronze in All Round Championship and Bronze in Team Championship.

  • Saanvi Deshwal [8D] & Anvi Deshwal [8D] represented Maharashtra at the 38th National Games of India held in Uttarakhand from 29th January to 4th February 2025. Anvi & Saanvi won Silver in both the 4x100m & 4x200m Freestyle Relays. Saanvi also won Gold in the Women's 400m Medley (Open Category).
  • Anaahi Jain [3C] won 4 gold medals and the Best Swimmer Championship Trophy for her performance in the GMAAA conducted Lower Age Group Annual Swimming Meet.
  • Saanvi Deshwal [8D], represented Bombay Scottish School and CISCE in U-14 Girls at 68th National School Games Championship 2024-25 at Rajkot, and won FOUR Gold medals:
    1. Gold medal in 200m Individual Medley with Best timing across their age groups and finishing 17 seconds ahead of silver medallist.

Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, comprising Aarav Bardhan [12C] and Ishmit Kaur [12B] emerged winners after going through 3 rounds (City, Regional and National Level) at the Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate Competition held at Trivandrum on the 24th of September, 2024. Aarav won the Best Speaker Award.

Anika Joseph [12B] was captain of the India team that participated in the International Young Physicists Tournament held this year in Budapest, Hungary from 10th - 16 th July 2024. Anika went through many challenging rounds to stand first in India and join the Indian team.

  • Won the first prize in the Wizkids - All India Master Builder 2024 Challenge. In the allocated theme of building a vehicle or a robot, Viraj designed an aesthetic golf cart (a solar-powered buggy) using LEGO blocks.
  • At the All India level in the WizKids Scientist competition organised by WizKids Carnival Tech Pvt. Ltd., Pune, Viraj won a gold medal, a certificate of achievement and a gift hamper of Encyclopedia of Rocks and minerals. He had performed an experimental demonstration on the tie-dye-milk experiment based on the property of surface tension and exhibited practical aspects of the tie dye technique on his plain white t-shirt to add vibrant colours.

    • Saanvi was also awarded the Individual Championship in the Girls U-14 years at the Zonal level as well as the regional level CISCE swimming Championship.

    • Saanvi won Gold medal with a New Meet Record in 50m breaststroke, breaking the earlier record set in 2022 in girls group – II.
    • She also created a second Junior National New Meet Record in 100m Breaststroke, improving the existing record created in 2018, winning Gold.
    • Further she won another Gold in 400m Individual Medley and a Silver in 200m breaststroke event.

  • won a Bronze Medal in the Cadet Women's Epee Discipline in the U-17 group at the District Level and is a part of the Cadet Epee Team representing Raigad district at the Maharashtra State Fencing League 2024.

Saina Chakrabarti [9A] and Vivaan Chakrabarti [9E] have started PAUDHA, a student-led platform that focuses on empowering student creativity and social initiative. The following 2 initiates were taken up:

  • Compassionate Diwali – Both students worked together to raise an amount of INR 25,000 by selling home baked goodies while handling the sales promotion via social media through which they raised INR 16,000. 300 goodie boxes were distributed to 3 orphanages and street children in Mumbai.
  • Pedal in Christmas – INR 25,000 was raised to buy cycles for tribal girls to ease their daily travel to school and back. Through the sale of Santa cookies, Christmas balls, cakes and brownies, both students were successful in collecting INR 30,000. They plan to take this initiative ahead in the near future.

They were the youngest and only all-girls team in the Senior category and their performance was much appreciated by the judges.

  • won the 3rd place at the JSW 9th Sunil Verma Memorial Tournament 2023 held at Vasind from 19 th - 23 rd December 2023 in the BU 15 category. This was a national circuit squash tournament.
  • 3rd in this National level tournament - CSK iSquash Open, Pune organised by SRFI and held at Pune from 13 th - 17 th December 2023 in the BU 15 category.
  • 2nd in the BU 15 category at the Northern India Squash Championship 2023, a National Level Squash tournament held at the Delhi Gymkhana Club, Delhi from 25 th to 30 th November 2023.

Elocution

  • At the Sam Berklee Elocution Competition organised by the YMCA, Kaisha Kapoor won 2nd place and Avishka Bhor won 3rd place.
  • In the Indian Red Cross Society English Elocution Competition, Kaveesh Mitra and Vritika Shah won 2nd position in their respective categories.

Debate

  • At the Paris World School Debate Championship which was held online in September, Dania Khan won 13th Best Speaker out of 300 speakers. She has also been selected for the Indian Schools Debating Society [Programmes] - National Camp.
  • In an International Debate Competition called Transpacific World Schools Debating Championship, the best teams from all over the world like the Korean National Team and the Singapore National Team participated. Dania Khan was adjudged the Best Novice Speaker. She also won the 2nd Best Speaker under 4 and Under 16 years from among 200 plus speakers.

French Day Celebrations

At the French Day Celebrations held at Apostolic Carmel High School, Bandra, our students won the following:

At the Furtados Inter-School Band-It Festival 2023, Arnav Anukumar won the ‘Winner’ award in the Solo Singing category. There were 50 finalists out of 360 participants across western region (Mumbai, Goa & Gujarat) who participated from different schools including the International schools.

The All Bombay Inter-School Band-It Competition, ‘The Ones’, our school band comprising Rehan Press, Giselle Qureshi, Nia D’Souza, Parhaan Khanna, Raphael Dsouza came 1st in the Regional finale under Band category 2023. They have been participating for the last six years and have won four times. They have now been selected for the All-India National Finale.


Online Coding Competition

At CATH CON - an online coding competition organised by the Cathedral and John Connon School, Aarav Malani stood 1st in the Senior category and Avighna Chhatrapati stood 3rd in the Junior category. There were 250+ participants from all over India in both categories. Aarav and Avighna will be receiving cash prizes of INR 5000 and INR 2000 respectively.


The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition

The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition is an annual international writing competition for young writers from Commonwealth countries. It is organized by the Royal Commonwealth Society and has around 30,000+ participants. Sharanya Sudarshan won the Bronze Award in the senior category for her piece titled - "The Afghan Apple Orchards”.


Aditya Birla World Academy

At The Happy Place, Aditya Birla World Academy, our students bagged the following prizes:

Speech and Debate

In the Mumbai Speech and Debate League held at IIT Bombay, Rhea D’Costa was the semi-finalist and came 6th out of 300+ speakers across Mumbai in the qualifiers. She also participated in the Indo-Pacific Debate, a debate across 40 Asian teams.


Hindustan Olympiad

Ayaansh Salgia, emerged victorious in the Hindustan Olympiad (identified as one of the world’s biggest Olympiads) held in Mumbai in April. The Olympiad reveals the competence levels in all major subjects. The young prodigy outshone thousands of competitors to win the Olympiad. He was awarded a trophy, certificate and a cheque of Rs.5,000/-.

  • Armaan Jetha was the youngest competitor in the DUSK TO DAWN - India’s first ultra Swimathon event which was held on 9th and 10th of September. He won 1st place overall. He broke the existing record of the 12-hour solo swim by more than 6 km as he covered a distance of 36.8 km.

Camrynn Fernandes

  • Camrynn Fernandes was selected for the WIFA Maharashtra Sub Juniors Girls Team and represented the State in the AIFF Sub Juniors Hero National Football Championship 2023-24 in Amritsar in September 2023. She was also named vice-captain for the team.

Anosh Adhikari

  • Anosh Adhikari has secured a silver medal in the DSO Air Rifle Open Sight Match in the U19 category at the Mumbai DSO Inter-school Shooting Championship which took place in September 2023.

  • Armaan Jetha, Arjun Jhaveri, Atharva Mhapralkar, Prithvi Jagnani & Nishkarsh Kabra (Boys U17) won Second Runners Up in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay & the 4x100m Medley Relay.

Roller Skating Marathon

  • Shivani Iyer participated in the Amritkaal Independence Day Roller Skating Marathon in an attempt to create a world record in 3 books for the most number of skaters performing for 5 hours at the same time in multiple venues all over India.

Vardaan Agrawal

  • Vardaan Agrawal stood first and got the Championship Trophy in Under 8 Category in the Elite Chess Championship at the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana. He scored 5 out of 5 points. He won all the 5 matches and was ahead of the runner up by a big margin. He defeated FIDE rated players in this tournament.

Anuriti Singh

  • Anuriti Singh secured the 'Silver Medal' at Maharashtra State Sub-Junior Karate Championship 2023, in "Kumite' - Duel Fighting in the '10 Year Old Age; 30 kg' category. She now holds Rank 2 at State Level in her category.

Shrieyaa Athale

  • Shrieyaa Athale won Second Runners Up at the DSO District Level Judo Tournament.

Sara Mody

  • secured first place and the gold in the Girls U17 category in Chess along with four other players representing Maharashtra at the CISCE Nationals held in Hyderabad in September 2023.
  • secured first place in the Girls U16 category at the MSSA Chess tournament held in October 2023.

Ose Ahuja

  • In the CISCE Zonal Lawn Tennis Tournament held in September 2023, Ose Ahuja secured the Bronze Medal.

Athletics

  • At the CISCE Regional Athletics Championship 2023-24 held at Priyadarshini Park, Cayden Dias (Boys U19) was Second Runner Up in the 100m Sprint.
  • Muhammad Ali Khandwani (Boys U19) came First in the High Jump Event and qualified for the CISCE Athletic Nationals Championship.

Artistic Gymnastics

  • At the CISCE Level Artistic Gymnastics Competition held in October 2023, Shanaya Lingam (Girls U14) won First in Balancing beam, First in floor, Third in Vault, First as All Rounder, Trophy for Best Gymnast and qualified for CISCE Nationals.

Srishti Malhotra

  • Srishti Malhotra qualified for CISCE Nationals Throwball Tournament for Girls U19.
