Anika Joseph's [12B] history essay was shortlisted for the finals of the John Locke Essay Competition. Anika was awarded a Merit commendation and she received the certificate in person at an awards ceremony in London on September 21, 2024.

Arnav Anukumar [7A] won 2nd Runner up in the All India Regionals, in the solo-singing category at the Band-It festival 2024 organised by Furtados.

Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, comprising Aarav Bardhan [12C] and Ishmit Kaur [12B] emerged winners after going through 3 rounds (City, Regional and National Level) at the Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate Competition held at Trivandrum on the 24th of September, 2024. Anika Joseph [12B] was captain of the India team that participated in the International Young Physicists Tournament held this year in Budapest, Hungary from 10th - 16 th July 2024. Anika went through many challenging rounds to stand first in India and join the Indian team.

• Won the first prize in the Wizkids - All India Master Builder 2024 Challenge. In the allocated theme of building a vehicle or a robot, Viraj designed an aesthetic golf cart (a solar-powered buggy) using LEGO blocks.
• At the All India level in the WizKids Scientist competition organised by WizKids Carnival Tech Pvt. Ltd., Pune, Viraj won a gold medal, a certificate of achievement and a gift hamper of Encyclopedia of Rocks and minerals. He had performed an experimental demonstration on the tie-dye-milk experiment based on the property of surface tension and exhibited practical aspects of the tie dye technique on his plain white t-shirt to add vibrant colours.

The U14 Girls Basketball Team were 2 nd Runners Up in the DSO District Basketball Tournament held at St. Xavier’s College, Churchgate on 27st September 2024.

BADMINTON

Ishita Agarwal (U19 Girls) won Silver at the CISCE Zonal Badminton Tournament 2024 held at Singhania School, Thane on 16th July 2024.

SWIMMING

At the CISCE Zonal Swimming Competition Daivik Khajanchi, Jiyan Kanakia, Kavit Bhambane & Rohan Roy were Runners Up in 4x50m Freestyle Relay.

At the DSO District Swimming Competition, Aariv Banerjee, Ivan George, Kavit Bhambane & Dhruv Maheshwari secured Runners Up position in the Medley Relay & Freestyle Relay.

At the CISCE Zonal Swimming Competition for Girls U12, Adia Kapoor, Namya Behl, Anika Saxena & Gianna Netto were Bronze in 4x50m Freestyle Relay.

GYMNASTICS

Kiara Savla, Ridhima Parihar & Ananyaa Tawde (U12 Girls) won Gold in the Team Championship at the CISCE Regional Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition held at Euro School, Thane on 28th September 2024.

Anaahi Jain [3C] won the following at the GMAAA Swim Meet held on 30th June, 2024:

• Gold medal in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke
• Bronze medal in the 50m Butterfly stroke
• She broke previous meet records in both freestyle and backstroke.

Gargi Aggarwal [4C] won the following at the Leap Invitational Meet held on 12th July, 2024:

• Gold medal in the Vaulting Table event and in the All Round category.
• Bronze in the Uneven Bar, Balancing Beam and Floor exercise events.

She also achieved an impressive 3rd place finish in Balancing Beam and an overall 9th place finish in the all-around category for National Level 6 at the prestigious All Level LEAP Invitational competition held in Pune on 18th August 2024.

She also won the following at the All India Level 5 Artistic Gymnastics Competition held at The Gaudium Sportopia in Hyderabad on 28th July 2024:

At the DSO District Level Lawn Tennis Tournament held at MSLT, Fort, on 26th August 2024, Vritika Shah (U14 Girls) won First Place and Devika Pinge (U14 Girls) was Bronze. Pradhyuman Savant (U14 Boys) was Runners Up and Nilay Dhawale (U17 Boys) was also the Runners Up.

Anushka Reddy [9E] emerged the winner in the U14 Girls category and Runner up in the U18 girls Category in the Shivaji Park Gymkhana Lawn Tennis Tournament.

Riya Vinherkar [10B] won three trophies in different categories at the CCI – Greater Mumbai Yonex – Sunrise District Badminton Championship 2024. She was also felicitated by the GMBA (Greater Mumbai Badminton Association) for her outstanding performance in securing the gold medal for the Greater Mumbai Team in the Inter District Championship 2023.

Created TWO SGFI National Records in swimming, securing 4 Gold medals in under-14 girls in the 67th National School Games held from 3rd to 6th January 2024:

• Gold medal in 200m Individual Medley with new National Games record, showcasing all round supremacy in all the four strokes.

She emerged the Youngest Swimmer Pan India representing Maharashtra State at 6th Khelo India Youth Games at Chennai and also at 39th Junior Nationals at Bhubaneshwar.

She was the ONLY 12 year old swimmer with a podium finish at the Khelo Games in the women’s category.

She was recognized as the rising talent of Maharashtra and Fastest breaststroker in Maharashtra state.

At the 6th Khelo India Youth Games at Chennai 26th to 31st January, 2024: Saanvi Deshwal post her selection from Maharashtra state:

• Won Silver medal in 200m Individual Medley at the games in women category.
• Won Silver medal in 4x100m Medley relay, selected as the fastest breaststroker in Maharashtra.

Saanvi was selected to represent CISCE at SGFI Nationals in all three events and also for the medley relay team of CISCE.

At the 18th CISCE Regional Swimming Championship:
During 18th CISCE Regional Interschool Swimming Championship 2023, Saanvi Deshwal was awarded “Best Swimmer” in Under 14 Girls category with three new meet records created by her.

• 50m Breast: won Gold medal. Old record created in 2013 by her school alumni student (Aditi Nazre) in 50m Breast stroke was rewritten by Saanvi.

As part of the School Basketball team, Saanvi Deshwal played CISCE Zonals at St. Gregorios School on 28th and 29th August 2023. The team won third place.

Nia Bansal [10C] participated in the All Bharat Open Championship - Tiger Cup [Karate], in which more than 1000 students across age groups had taken part. She won the Silver medal in under 16 Brown Medal.

Pratham Hari [12B] won a Gold and two Silver medals at the 14th Lakshyavedh Shooting Championship, in the U17, U19 and U21 categories respectively.

Saanvi Deshwal [8B]

Saanvi Deshwal [8B] was awarded the Best Swimmer (Women) title at the 3rd PSPB Inter-Unit Swimming Tournament 2023-2024. Saanvi won Gold medals in 50m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke events. She also led the relay team to win Gold in 4 x 50m Freestyle relay and Silver in 4 x 50m Freestyle mixed relay.

• Won a bronze in the 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:07.50 at the National School Games 2023-24.

Anaahi Jain [3C] won 2nd place in Backstroke and 2nd place in Freestyle in the Matunga Gymkhana 13th Inter Club Swimming Competition under the auspices of GMAAA conducted on 19th April 2024.

Risha Gutka [9C] has completed the Kedarkantha trek which is the 2nd Himalayan trek (height 12580 feet) which she summited on 9th May 2024 with Indiahikes Summer Camp programme (4th May to 12th May).

Vivaan Karande [11D] participated in the Belgrade Open Level 2 National Tennis Tournament held at Tennis Club Master, Belgrade, in the Boys Under 16 Singles category, and finished as Runners Up.

• At the Sam Berklee Elocution Competition organised by the YMCA, Kaisha Kapoor won 2nd place and Avishka Bhor won 3rd place.
• In the Indian Red Cross Society English Elocution Competition, Kaveesh Mitra and Vritika Shah won 2nd position in their respective categories.

Debate

• At the Paris World School Debate Championship which was held online in September, Dania Khan won 13th Best Speaker out of 300 speakers. She has also been selected for the Indian Schools Debating Society [Programmes] - National Camp.
• In an International Debate Competition called Transpacific World Schools Debating Championship, the best teams from all over the world like the Korean National Team and the Singapore National Team participated. Dania Khan was adjudged the Best Novice Speaker. She also won the 2nd Best Speaker under 4 and Under 16 years from among 200 plus speakers.

French Day Celebrations

At the French Day Celebrations held at Apostolic Carmel High School, Bandra, our students won the following:

• 1st place in the Quiz Competition - Jordan Pinto, Aarnav Jain, Tara Mankar and Ruhaan Rajadhyaksha.
• 1st place in the Heads-up event - Earl Dias, Myrah Gupta and Swara Inamdar.

Solo Singing category

At the Furtados Inter-School Band-It Festival 2023, Arnav Anukumar won the ‘Winner’ award in the Solo Singing category. There were 50 finalists out of 360 participants across western region (Mumbai, Goa & Gujarat) who participated from different schools including the International schools.

Inter-School Band-It Competition

The All Bombay Inter-School Band-It Competition, ‘The Ones’, our school band comprising Rehan Press, Giselle Qureshi, Nia D’Souza, Parhaan Khanna, Raphael Dsouza came 1st in the Regional finale under Band category 2023. They have been participating for the last six years and have won four times. They have now been selected for the All-India National Finale.

Online Coding Competition

At CATH CON - an online coding competition organised by the Cathedral and John Connon School, Aarav Malani stood 1st in the Senior category and Avighna Chhatrapati stood 3rd in the Junior category. There were 250+ participants from all over India in both categories. Aarav and Avighna will be receiving cash prizes of INR 5000 and INR 2000 respectively.

The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition

The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition is an annual international writing competition for young writers from Commonwealth countries. It is organized by the Royal Commonwealth Society and has around 30,000+ participants. Sharanya Sudarshan won the Bronze Award in the senior category for her piece titled - "The Afghan Apple Orchards”.

Aditya Birla World Academy

At The Happy Place, Aditya Birla World Academy, our students bagged the following prizes:

• All sizes Fit (Dance Event) - 1st place
• Change the Beat (Singing Solo) - 1st prize

Speech and Debate

In the Mumbai Speech and Debate League held at IIT Bombay, Rhea D’Costa was the semi-finalist and came 6th out of 300+ speakers across Mumbai in the qualifiers. She also participated in the Indo-Pacific Debate, a debate across 40 Asian teams.

Hindustan Olympiad

Ayaansh Salgia, emerged victorious in the Hindustan Olympiad (identified as one of the world’s biggest Olympiads) held in Mumbai in April. The Olympiad reveals the competence levels in all major subjects. The young prodigy outshone thousands of competitors to win the Olympiad. He was awarded a trophy, certificate and a cheque of Rs.5,000/-.
